Mounts the expansion tank to the side of a the radiator, a common replacement part on high mileage BMW's

If you are performing a cooling system overhaul it's always a good idea to replace all worn parts. This retainer secures the expansion tank to the radiator. When replacing the expansion tank it is also a good idea to replace this retainer.

Only for BMW's with automatic transmissions, includes sealing o-ring that goes into radiator, p/n 17111711987.

Bad fitment
Honestly buy a genuine bmw retaining bracket. This one didn’t align too well and kind of curved towards the center when put all together. Also fought with it to push the expansion tank into place. No leaks so far though so I guess that’s a positive.

i believe the product is good my problem must be the expansion tank, when pressure builds up it rises and a leak occurs, but good product !

Questionable fitment quality with Nissens radiator
This retainer is slightly taller than my Nissens radiator which means there was some flex in the middle of the retainer in order to seat the bracket and line up the screw hole at the top. The Genuine brand is supposedly Behr, which may explain the problem, although I noticed a similar gap between the top of my old retainer and radiator from factory. If you're using this Rein/Nissens combo then take your time to make sure the bottom slot of the retainer is seated into the radiator. No leaks so far, but be aware you may run into this. Definitely attach this to the radiator outside the car if you can, the torx screw at the top is nearly impossible to access if you don't have a very slim profile T-25 torx driver.

Tank Retainer.
Excellent replacement and an exact fit. FCPEURO had two that looked the same in the photos. The one that I was replacing had an unreadable part number. But one quick call to FCP and their knowledgeable staff ensured that I got the right part.

Hello I have a automatic 2002 BMW e46 325i and my mounting bracket doesn't look like this one. This one is missing one of the holes the automatic transmission cooler goes into.

The additional hole that the oil cooler attaches to is not part of this bracket. Instead it's an additional piece which attaches to the bracket, p/n 17111707817.
