Product Information

Evolve has developed these dampers in conjunction with Bilstein UK over a period of years. As good as the original Bilstein dampers are, Evolve wanted to tailor them for use with lowering springs and MSS Height Adjustable Springs.

Evolve worked with Bilstein to change the valving to make the comfort setting even more compliant and the Sport + setting slightly stiffer giving more range of damping given by the electronic modes in the EDC-equipped E90, E92 and E93 M3

Not only that but a common complaint for all B6/B8 dampers is that they lift the front slightly. This wasn't something Evolve wanted so with a lot of back and forth with Bilstein they developed a shorter damper body that solves this issue. (some lift may be evident when brand new compared to a used damper due to the nature of how Bilstein uses a gas-pressurized damper) however, the suspension should settle over ~500 miles of use.

These dampers can be used with stock or any lowering springs on the market that work with stock dampers, including MSS Adjustable Springs. They will not work with KW HAS/BMW M Performance HAS.

Suspension Strut and Shock Absorber Assembly Kit

A shock absorber kit is a set of replacement components designed to restore a vehicle's suspension system. It typically includes shock absorbers along with essential parts like mounting hardware and seals. These components work together to dampen the suspension by controlling the rebounding motion of the springs. Signs of a failing shock absorber include a bouncy ride, excessive body roll during cornering, nose-diving when braking, uneven tire wear, and sometimes visible fluid leaks from the shock.

  • Bouncy ride: The most noticeable sign, where the car continues to bounce excessively after hitting a bump
  • Nose dive when braking: The front end of the car dips significantly when applying the brakes
  • Excessive body roll in corners: The car leans excessively when turning, feeling unstable
  • Uneven tire wear: Irregular wear patterns on the tires, often with cupping or scalloping due to inconsistent contact with the road

Lifetime replacement” isn’t a replacement — it’s store credit with a major catch
I bought the BMW Evolve Damptronic Strut and Shock Absorber Set for my 2016 M4 from FCP Euro on November 13 2025 (as a full set). In under 4 months, one of the front struts failed. FCP Euro advertises a lifetime replacement, but the reality (at least in my case) is a huge catch: they only offer store credit, and because I purchased it as a set, I’m told I’d have to return the entire set to get that store credit. That means if one strut fails, I’m essentially forced into buying another $3,000 set just to keep the car on the road—then deal with returning everything to recover store credit later. That’s not a “replacement” in any practical sense. It’s an expensive loop that punishes anyone who bought the set the way it’s sold. The product failing this quickly is bad enough, but the warranty process makes it worse.
