Your BMW's water pump pumps coolant throughout the engine and cooling system. A proper coolant supply is critical to ensuring sufficient engine cooling. Water pumps however can wear out over time and are a common replacement item on higher mileage BMW's. The easiest way to tell that a water pump is failing is to see if coolant is leaking through the "weep hole". If this is occurring it means that the water pump bearing is failing and coolant is leaking past it.

We also recommend replacing (1) 11511439976 coolant pipe.

Engine Water Pump

Your vehicles engine water pump is responsible for keeping coolant flowing through the engine. As water pumps get old the internal bearing can go bad causing noise and a coolant leak. A good indicator that your water pump is failing is if you see coolant leaking through the water pump "weep hole".

Engine Water Pump Failure Symptoms
  • Coolant leak through weep hole
  • Play at water pump pulley shaft indicating a bad bearing
  • Squeaking noise coming from pump at idle
  • Overheating conditions
  • Low coolant light on instrument cluster indicating a cooling system leak

Hepu replacement water pump- NOT REFURBISHED!!!!
I was in need of a replacement water pump for my E60 550 and i noticed during my endless high and low search on the intrawebs that a lot of the competing sites offered REFURBISHED parts. Needless to say i was disappointed because i am not in the market for something fixed up and repackaged and resold. I want new and i want OE or OEM (genuine unfortunately doesnt fit the bill seeing how the impeller is made of composite aka HARD PLASTIC). My mechanic said find one with a metal impeller....and voila....HEPU!!! After a few youtube videos i was also reassured that my choice was the right now, so i bought it. Now im waiting on my mechanic to make time for me to install it....and thats that.

Water pump arrived on time.. FedEx didn’t have me sign for it with this be a important to me. Or future customer
