The Engine Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Oil Control Valve is a component of a modern engine's variable valve timing system. This valve regulates the flow of oil to the VVT camshaft sprocket. Oil flow via this oil control valve will either advance or retard camshaft timing.

This oil control valve is the mounting bolt for the camshaft VVT sprockets. Depending on the production range of your BMW or Mini, the size/style of VANOS oil control valve will vary, and it's important to identify which version your BMW has installed.
