This breather valve is part of your vehicle's PCV system and is mounted on the back of the valve cover towards the firewall. Over time, the valve becomes clogged with condensation and can no longer effectively ventilate the motor. This causes the entire oil separator system to fail. This part includes the gasket required for complete installation.

Fits great but my VC was still squealing. I ended up purchasing an aluminum VC from Amazon If you narrowed your problem down to this, Just go ahead and replace the Valve cover

Hello. Do you have the proper installation guidance for this Valve? A YouTube video shows that the old part needs to be cut into pieces with a Dremel tool, and the new part needs to be glued with epoxy. Is that the right installation way? Best Regards, Nik

would failure of this part cause the valve cover seal to leak prematurely? It seems I need to replace my valve cover every 2 yrs and it always leaks on the right rear corner of the valve cover.

It is possible there is increased crankcase pressure causing the failure but I would also recommend using a small dab of black rtv, I have had this same issues with N55 for years and this is the only way I have solved it.

it's not clear to me where this is located-the description says " This breather valve is part of your vehicle's PCV system and is mounted on the back of the intake manifold towards the firewall. ". so is it on the intake manifold or part of the valve cover?

No, these are just press fit, should snap in.

For N55 engines, this cap needs to be cut or pried off the valve cover, correct? How do you put this new one on? Also, why do the fitment notes say: “Also use (Qty) (2) 11 36 7 609 963 M6X18 self threading screw and (Qty) (1) 11 37 7 502 022 Actuator Gasket”? Doesn’t seem to be directly associated with this part.

These would be press fit on the valve cover, and should go on and off relatively easily, but the fitment note will have to be updated as the screws were more for the valvetronic unit and nothing additional would be needed for this install.
