Product Information

This holding device locks the drive shaft in place at the center u-joint allowing for easier removal of other fasteners on the transmission without causing damage. It has sliding mounts which adapt it to a variety of applications. It allows for drive shaft removal and installation to be a one-person job.

About AGA

Can this driveshaft holding tool be used to set the torque and torque angle for both front and rear flex discs on a 2012 650i xdrve? I see it holding the rear part of the shaft at the center bearing, but will it also hold the front shaft when trying to reach torque angle on the flex disc at the transfer case. I don't know how the shafts connect together at the center support bearing. Thanks. Tommy J. Russell

Yes, this tool holds the driveshaft to the chassis by bolting to the holes for the center support bearing and locking around the universal joint. The two halves of the driveshaft are splined, one is male one is female. This tool can be used to hold and support the rear driveshaft during removal or installation, and by extent the transfer case/front shaft. I would still recommend applying counter force to the front shaft flange with a pry bar for added internal component safety.
