Product Information
EBC 3GD Series Sport rotors are dimpled and slotted and precision-machined using premium-quality castings. Designed with wide-aperture scraper slots and blind-drilled holes, these 3GD rotors draw cooler air in and reduce temperatures for greatly reduced brake fade. Plus, their dimpling helps them to avoid stress cracks. Able to expel dirt, dust, and gases, EBC Sport rotors also maintain flat and parallel pad wear for better pad contact and better braking. These high-performance rotors are available in a sporty black GEOMET coated finish that not only looks great, but also prevents corrosion. Features:
- Dimpled rotors were invented by EBC; often imitated because of their pad degassing without "through drilling" holes which promotes rotor cracks
- 3GD rotors passed European R90 brake safety tests and were shown to run 100 degrees F cooler than non-slotted rotors
- Directional--the sweeping grooves and spotted pattern should point to the rear of the vehicle
- All slotted rotors increase in air noise as the rotor passes beneath the pads under normal driving and braking; EBC's sister USR Sport rotor range is much quieter yet offers similar performance
Commonly referred to as a Brake Disc or a Brake Rotor, these components play a vital role in your braking system. When applying the brake pedal, this produces hydraulic fluid pressure which then transfers the pressure from the pedal through your braking system and into your brake calipers. The caliper pistons then apply pressure against your brake pads squeezing them inward against your brake rotors ultimately causing friction and stopping the vehicle. Brake rotors are a regular maintenance item which requires either servicing by means of machine work, or most commonly replacement when they become too thin, pulsate, glaze, or grind from worn-out brake pads. It's recommended to replace the brake pads and rotors at the same time.

what vehicles would these fit on? they look like front rotors but not sure if there a direct fit for a 2008 bmw M3

These brake rotors do not fit E9X M3's. They would be a downgrade technically since they are a cast one-piece rotor vs the semi-floating OE rotors that come standard on the E9X M3.
