Product Information

310x24mm, Zimmermann replacement brake rotor

If you are experiencing pulsating through the brake pedal, grinding sounds, or there is a lip on your rotors it is likely time to replace them. When replacing brake rotors it is imperative to replace them in matched pairs for the best performance and service life of your braking system.

Disc Brake Rotor

Sold Individually

Commonly referred to as a Brake Disc or a Brake Rotor, these components play a vital role in your braking system. When applying the brake pedal, this produces hydraulic fluid pressure which then transfers the pressure from the pedal through your braking system and into your brake calipers. The caliper pistons then apply pressure against your brake pads squeezing them inward against your brake rotors ultimately causing friction and stopping the vehicle. Brake rotors are a regular maintenance item which requires either servicing by means of machine work, or most commonly replacement when they become too thin, pulsate, glaze, or grind from worn-out brake pads. It's recommended to replace the brake pads and rotors at the same time.

Disc Brake Rotor Failure Symptoms
  • Pulsating
  • Grinding
  • Squeaking
  • Glazing
  • Hot spots
  • A noticeable lip on the rotors outer edge

Questions & Answers

Ask a question
Question Posted by Franklin
I currently have 310 mm brake rotors, can i make the switch to 324 mm brake rotors?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Not without changing the brake caliper carriers and brake calipers. You will also probably need to have the ABS/DSC system recoded because brake bias will change due to the 324mm front brake setup having a larger brake piston. In general, this swap is not worth it for the marginal braking performance improvement in relation to the cost of doing the conversion.
