Product Information
Located on the upper portion of the intake manifold, a common culprit of idle and low RPM hesitation
The intake manifold adjuster, more commonly referred to as a DISA valve, is responsible for helping your BMW produce the best possible output across the rev range. The DISA valve artificially lengthens the intake runner at low RPMs for more low end torque and shortens the intake runners at high RPMs for more top end power.
A failed/failing DISA valve has the following symptoms:
- Hesitation at low rpm
- Rough idle
- Lean codes
- Loud noises from the engine bay

Came well packaged and no issues with fitment to intake; however, the connector seemed loose and required some tape to ensure a secure connection. Used on an e85 z4 for 3 stage intake upgrade.
Is programmable to software upgrades for Stage 3 Intake swaps and install! The seal is copper not rubber, Metal pin vs plastic pin. Very happy with my purchase!
Looks just like the original oem unit I removed from 08’ e83 with N52 3 stage intake and 110k on speedo. Both original DISA’s were completely intact and solid after a thorough inspection thankfully !!! Just wanted to replace them to ‘head off’ certain upcoming disaster. Not IF but WHEN as they say. Comparing them to my originals they’re identical in every little detail minus the BMW and MAHLE logo’s and numbers. Hope they last as long as originals ! I have confidence in the REIN products. Also… no need to remove intake to install. Believe me ! On the N52 you can have the old one out and in your hands in less than 15 minutes by simply removing alternator and sticking your hand under the intake. All kinds of room to work in there. Very easy ! Definitely don’t forget to order new alternator mounting bolts if your removing alternator. You WILL absolutely need them. Don’t reuse old ones ! Also a good time to replace your recalled angle connector if you don’t want the ‘stealer dealer’ doing the work.

I want to know is the rod that holds the fan to the base is metal or plastic. Those are famous for breaking if plastic.

Thank you for clarifying, the small valves (11617560538) still typically will be found with plastic flap rods, including this Rein unit. The larger valve is usually found with metal rod when parts follow the OE designs - which Rein does appear to.

If you are referencing the electrical pin, the part seen in the photo is plastic because its what the housing of the connector locks onto, the pin itself would be metal (otherwise it would have no conductivity).
