Part of your BMW's intake manifold

The intake manifold adjuster, more commonly referred to as a DISA valve, is responsible for helping your BMW produce the best possible output across the rev range. The DISA valve artificially lengthens the intake runner at low RPM's for more low end torque and shortens the intake runners at high RPM's for more top end power.

A failed/failing DISA valve has the following symptoms:

  • Hesitation at low rpm
  • Rough idle
  • Lean codes
  • Loud noises from engine bay

BMW DISA Valve - Rein 11617544805
Poor quality. I've installed 2 of these and both have failed rather quickly. Each one developed of loud high pitch type of whistle noise.

High-pitched whistle/whine after just 7 days
As described by other reviewers, this Rein DISA developed a loud, high-pitched, whistle/whine just seven days after installation. I'm hopeful this one will last; otherwise, I'll go with the BMW DISA. I give 5 stars to FCP Euro for getting a new one to me the very next day after I called to notify them of the problem. FCP Euro's customer service is always top notch!

Whistling noise after 6 months
Bought after mine was having issues with orignal. Installed and 6 months later started making a whistling noise. Unable to remove and replace the diaphragm unfortunately when i tried managed to break it even more. If you having the same noise wouldnt waste time trying to fix it get it replaced under warranty.

Don't waste your time
Bought this and it worked great! Felt instant power restored to the car. That's where the good ended. After only 3 weeks, it started making an god awful screaming noise from the diaphragm. Using my lifetime warranty replacement, however I have a feeling the new one will do the same thing based on reviews. Always read the reviews.

Not working as expected

Failed within six months - Making Whistling Noise
I replaced this due to lean codes on my 2006 X3. It worked for six months until I noticed a whistling noise under the hood coming from this new DISA valve. Other reviewers have noted the same problem. This is a known problem with Rein DISA Valves. See this post. https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?2472914-DISA-valve-electronic-whine BMW has quality problems with parts now. I put an OEM Fuel filter on my X3 and the regulator was bad. FCP Euro has been great about honoring the lifetime warranty but replacing cheap parts gets old. Buying a new one from FCP and returning this one under warranty.

Purchased and Installed
After a smoke test, found that my car had a vacuum leak through the DISA valve gasket. Ordered this and the part was no good (the gasket was fine) but a new noticeable whine from the back side of this DISA valve could be heard and even stopped by pressing a finger over it. Maybe just a one-off situation where the part is no good from the factory, but I am kicking myself for not just bucking up and buying a BMW DISA valve. I have contacted FCP for a replacement and will update if the replacement part works correctly.

Perfect fix, for 11 months
Bought this DISA valve after I kept misfiring on idle for system being too lean, and this fixed all of my issues. 11 months later I am using my lifetime replacement guarantee as there seems to be a tear in the diaphragm producing a terrible high pitch scream when not on throttle. I'd recommend the OEM part, but this one's price is too good not to give up, don't expect it to hold forever apparently.

I Initially purchased this Rein Disa on 2019 as a replacement to the Original BMW oem Disa and lasted about 3 years +/-. I recently did a replacement on the initial purchase and only worked for about a month before it started make loud whining/whistle sound. If money not an issue and you're planning on keeping your vehicle for years to come I recommend buying the Original BMW DISA Valve not the Rein.

This is listed as fitting the 325 AND 330ci. From what I understand the "flapper" part of the DISA is larger on the 330ci. Can you confirm the correct part number?

This applies to 325i and 325Ci models with the M56 SULEV engine (noted in fitment guide) which uses the M54B30 intake manifold and requires the larger size DISA valve. The application guide is correct for the years/models as listed. 325i/325Ci models with the M54B25 engine use p/n 11617544806.
