Eldor manufactured coil number 12138657273
Your BMW's direct ignition coil provides the power in order for your spark plug to "spark". If your BMW is suffering from a misfire issue it is likely due to a worn ignition coil or bad spark plug. One way to test for a bad ignition coil is to swap the ignition coils and see if the misfire follows the misfire.
We also recommend using dielectric grease when installing new ignition coils. It will protect the spark plug boot and create a water/dust tight seal. Great for added ignition performance.
Note: Eldor coils do not come in Eldor branded packaging as Eldor does not have an aftermarket sales division. This coil will come in a white box or box with BBT Technologies branded on it. The part number on top of the coil in both cases will read "R3516S00100" with a production date/time stamp underneath.
Direct ignition coils are located directly over the top of the spark plug. In this ignition setup there is one ignition coil per spark plug and there are no spark plug wires. This ignition setup is often referred to as a coil on plug ignition system.
Coil on plug or direct ignition systems are pretty much used on all modern cars due to packaging, performance, emissions, and maintenance reasons. This ignition system is essentially maintenance free with the exception of spark plug replacements and the occasional coil replacement when compared to a traditional ignition system.

About Eldor
Eldor Corporation was founded by Pasquale Forte in a garage in the small centre of Orsenigo, in Brianza area, not far from the lakes in Northern Italy. The company was specialized in consumer electronics, developing high tension transformers for radio and television sets. In the late 1980s, Eldor opened up to the world: it started to export products and opened sales branches in USA, Hong Kong and UK. In 1991, taking another bold step for the time, especially for a medium-sized company, Eldor set up its first international operations, opening a factory in Turkey, and introduced the same automated production lines that had proved to be so successful in Italy.
Ignition systems production gradually took off, and Eldor devoted itself to innovative work on electronic control units. With its first product, using patented technology for analysing ionising current, Eldor gained the “Ferrari Technology Award” as Ferrari’s best technological partner. Eldor joined a number of European research projects and, in 2009, was the first European company in the motor vehicle sector to put a full-hybrid scooter on the road. In 2009, Eldor won the “Volkswagen Group Award”, the first Italian company in Italy to receive an award from Volkswagen for the quality of its products.

Even though my coils were still within their age limit and hadn’t caused any problems, my 2006 530xi just hit 200k miles. I figured I’d do some maintenance to help it reach 300k. After doing some research, I concluded that Eldor coils are the best choice for me. I wasn’t expecting any noticeable difference after installing them; I just knew I shouldn’t have any problems for the next 80k. After they were installed, I noticed my engine had more power and felt smoother and quieter and this is BEFORE I change the spark plugs
Didn't know if I really needed to replace my coils, but I had them on hand. I took a round trip from Atlanta to Ocala FL with just the new spark plugs installed. Car ran fine but had those random misses on cold starts which I had before replacing the plugs. Even after highway driving, the car idled okay but with slight vibrations. The car sat for 7 days when I decided to at least look at a new coil. I noticed the box felt heavier than expected. I pulled out the new coil, it felt heavier. I weighed the coil, it weighed 262 grams. I pulled a single coil off the car and weighed it, it weighed 229 grams. Wow, the new coil WAS heavier. I pulled the remaining coils out of the car, their weights ranged from 229 to 230 grams. I weighed the new coils, their weights ranged from 259 to 262 grams. I installed the new coils, buttoned everything up and started the car. The random cold start misses were gone. The slight vibrations after highway driving were gone. I was on the same tank of gas. This has to be attributable to the new coils, and to think I was about to return them...glad I didn't.
I put them in my stage 2plus MHD tuned f30 n55 and they work great.. Thanks fcp for fast shipping
Had a shake and misfire issue and these Eldor Coils were a perfect fit and my car is running better than it ever has! I bought Bosch coils from autozone and those were so bad but these ones are amazing!

It works great on N20/N26 engines. The engine runs smoother than before.
Bought these and threw them in my 09 335i that was giving me a few misfires. These along with spark plugs made the engine happy again and now she rips! Great quality as always, thank you FCP Euro!

Genuine Eldor Coils - they will come in an aftermarket box - but the coil itself is the real deal. I was getting combustion misfires on ISTA on my X5M and it was either the dreaded injectors or the OEM Bosch Coils. I changed the coils and it's running supreme, much much more smoother and better on fuel. All the misfires have gone and I'm happy with the outcome.
If you have misfires, change plugs and coils first, and if they persist, it's the injectors - the Vitesco new Index 12 work a treat - easy to calibrate and install.
Overall, very happy, the package arrived in 7 days and I'm 10,000 miles away as the crow flies.
Solved my misfires
Replaced my stock Bosch coils with Eldor ignition coils, the car seems to be have more power now. Install was straightforward!!
Works perfect on the m54 engine.
Great coils for the N54, but I think the new Delphi coils are potentially better.. Either way, I'm switching over to B58 coils since they are the best for the N54 right now.
Works fine on 2014 F30 BMW 335i with N55 Engine even though website says part may not fit. The Eldor coils looked beefy and weighed more than Delphi.
2009 E90 BMW 328i M-Sport n52 motor
These eldor coils work great in the n52 motor. Ever site I looked said that they don't but after reading forms and people saying they worked in there n52's I decided to try them. The fit was perfect and they have been working great now for about 6 months. I wanted to put the best coils in my n52 and didn't want Delphi or Bosch. These fit and work in the n52 motor.
My lci e91 was in need of sparks and coils, and after learning and confirming with BMW that Eldor is now the recommended coil manufacturer (as opposed to previous default of Bosch), I found these coils and paired them with NGK sparks.
They do just as they should and are performing flawlessly. Recommend.

Worked great on my 2008 335i
Replaced all 6 ignition coils on my 2008 328xi. Was sluggish pre-install. Works like new post install.
Videos and step by step instructions FCP was very helpful.
Ran these without issues in e85 tuned n63 and n63tu engines.
It is a stronger coil than the alternatives and is what is used in new model BMWs and others. The design is same as OEM that I replaced just heavier duty and better quality. Good buy in my personal opinion.

Replaced all 8. There was a mix of Bosch and Delphi coils of various age now all smooth. Also did the plugs as well as they were at 30k. Smoother power for sure recommend.
quick install, worked perfectly for 2014 bmw 535i even though it says it won't fit. Eldor is the way to go and so far no misfire issues.
I replaced OEM Delphi. Delphi coils are great too. But the Eldor?.. whew! Fits well and I noticed a good difference in pull. It definitely feels like there are more horses in the front.

cost effective solution to have a spare coil in the trunk, you will eventually need it. Cyl 2 has eaten 2 coils in a year, now cylinder three got hungry haha

The Eldor ignition coils appear to be better quality than the Bosch ones. I've had these installed on my car for several months, along with NGK spark plugs, and it's fixed the rough idling.
A simple and easy to swap that has my bimmer running smoother now! Going to order some NGK 1-step colder plugs and upgrade those as well too.

Running these on a 2007 335 with MHD stage 2 tune. They perform well!
It's evident why BMW went with Eldor coils over Bosch. Quality is top notch and just the feel alone is made obvious which is a higher quality product. Don't hesitate to get these if you're on the N54 platform, get rid of the Bosch coils and get these!
I got these to replace the stock coils in my 335i and I can't necessarily say they are performing better the overall construction of these is far superior to stock and they were a direct fit. Car is running great with these in it!

I wanted to switch to Eldor from Delphi and am glad I did. They are amazing quality. BMW switched to these for the newer N55 engines so I figured I would give them a shot. Glad I did.
Had a misfire on my MHD tuned N54, narrowed it down to ignition coil and used a Duralast (AutoZone) coil. Misfire came back and ordered the Eldor coils. NO issues since then. Perfect for tuned cars.
they held up good for about 2.5 months, 6000kms before starting to misfire.
These are great coils. Swapped out for the OEMs at 75k miles and not only corrected my misfire issues, car runs much smoother and has noticeably more power now. Didn't quite "click" into place as well as the Bosch OEMs, but they seem to be doing the job and were surprisingly easy to install on the car - took me about 30 minutes on my E66. I do suggest you live chat or call to verify fitment before ordering. Apparently, E66s came with three different types of coils from the factory. I ordered the Delphi coils and they didn't fit my car, even though they're listed as fitting a 2003 745Li. These, oddly enough, are not listed as fitting my car, but they worked great. Tanner was very helpful and FCP had the new coils out to me immediately so I could get my land yacht back on the road. Thanks again for the excellent service and great parts.
Don’t even bother buying the other coils for your bmw! these coils are superb in quality and life and the fit is absolutely perfect I know a lot of guys who browse this website are kind of in doubt about what they’re Putting in there 335.But trust me these coils fit like a glove just make sure that the plugs on top of the coils fit because I think that they are 2 different plugs.If you can take a picture of the plugs and send them an email and ask if they would fit that would be wise.but besides that these are the only coils you really need to be running in your in N54!!!Hands Down!!!
2011 328i with 129k miles. I originally bought this car back in 2015 with 42k miles on it. Recently I've had problems with misfiring and I was getting HORRIBLE mileage. Decided to change my ignition coils along with spark plugs. I really wish I'd have done this sooner. At first I purchased Delphi coils and they were just not happy with my tune which didnt make sense because it is only an MHD stage 1 tune for my N55. The very minute i changed to a Eldor coils I noticed a different in the smoothness and idle, it now has that “purr” and all you hear is the lovely sound of the injectors firing so quiet! They may not list them for your engine but they are compatible with all of the N engines. If you are not tuned then these are probably overkill and you’ll be fine with Delphi just stay away from Bosch regardless of the application.

These are go to coils for Tuned cars. If you plan or already have tuned your N55 car / F10. these are go to recommended by tuners. They perform great on Stage 1-3 Cars and I highly recommend. Paired with NGK Spark plugs, this is a go to combo!

Switched from the stock Bosch coils to the Eldor coils and step 2 colder spark plugs since getting a stage 2 ecu tune and catted downpipes and the car runs much better, before it was rough running, sometimes would throw some misfires and jerked, now its much smoother and more power runs much better...

But they have an explanation on why. No ignition issues yet and it’s been a few hundred miles. Hopefully FCP Euro honors their lifetime warranty policy if these were to ever fail.
They look and feel better than the stock coils but I haven’t had these coils two months and I had my valve cover replaced and one of the coils has separated from the bottom that sitting on the spark plug.
Work perfect no more misfires
My 2013 X5 50 just turned 100k and I noticed some intermittent misfire. Decided to replace my coils with the Eldor. Before I ordered them, I researched them on BMW blogs and here on FCP. Glad I did. My X5 runs better than I thought. Smooth acceleration and better gas mileage. Overall, the engine feels like it has been released. Just runs better than before. Even my mechanic said these coils make a huge difference in how the engine runs. Money well spent.
I don’t know when exactly the last owner changed these even though the Bosch that was in it didn’t give me any issues. But life time warranty got me to change them to Eldors.

I had intermittent firing in cylinders 1 & 4, which eventually propagated to the other four. I bought six and installed them as the older coils failed. It was an easy install and they have been working great. Saved a bundle by purchasing them from FCP Euro and installing them myself.

After reading hours of forum posts, I decided on these. Glad I did. These are apparently the current factory coils now. Less issues than the Bosch or the Delphi coils. I had Delphi coils and didn't have any issues, but these are supposedly an upgraded design and what BMW uses now. And hey, it's FCP Euro. It doesn't get any better. Thanks guys!

Worked perfectly. Eliminated engine misfire. Perfect fit. Mechanic had put new Delphi coils and X5 has missed ever since. Eldor cured the misfire.
These coils is the best I have ever bought. The performance of my car is outstanding. Should bought them sooner.
Had to trash my old ignition coils after 93,000 miles on my E93 08' N54 engine. Replaced with these Eldors! I have driven the car and put on 1,500 miles on these coils ever since installing and no more misfires. The trip to the beach was smooth all the way back home.
These coils are the best. They support high horsepower n54s quite well. And I haven't had one misfire in over a year and 10k miles. Really excited to see how long they last. BMW made a great decision making these eldors OEM.
These Eldor pencil coils are a major improvement over the Delphi's as these new coils are rated to support up to 600hp easily! WORTH IT!
After asking FCPeuro why they don't stock Eldor coils for the F10 since BMW made the switch from Delphi, they answered back saying that the Delphi pencil coils where designed for the n55 engine and work best & r stable therefore only recommended using Delphi coils. But then again BMW on their website on updated parts has made the switch to Eldor coils for the F10 as they are a way more improvement over the Delphi's. Yet FCPeuro didn't hesitate to tell me that they do stock Eldor coils and where nice enough to give me the sku number if i wanted to order them. After watching a video on YT on their coils replacement u can clrealy see a whole stack of pallets full of Delphi coils in the backgroud, so as they need to get rid of their stcock first before they suggest Eldor coils! lol.... And so i did placed my Eldor coil order.
They fitted perfectly on my F10 M-Sport 535i as they needed replaced since i was still rocking the original Delphi coils it came with that looked burned and yellow worn out. My bmw purrs like a Tiger at full power! Fully 100% recommend..

Excellent service from FCP!!! The Eldor coils look and seem to be very well made. In my personal opinion the fit leaves alot to be desired. With some slight modification they would most likely fit. I was not comfortable with how they fit my F10 M5 compared to the oem bosch coils. I decided to ride the oem coils out and order the delphi coils. Hope this helps.

After scanning through forums, calling the local BMW shop, and never getting a truly straight answer on whether or not these coils were a replacement for my 2014 335i (not listed on FCP Euro as a direct replacement for the Bosch/Delphi coils), I ordered anyways as I perceived them to be a higher quality than the Bosch/Delphi options. After unboxing and comparing to the original coils, these were identical in size and fit (not in color, but I don't see how that is relevant). The Eldor coils have a sturdy metal sleeve and pass the "weight" feel as a quality part. After swapping out all the coils and spark plugs (had a misfire code, I think it was due to the spark plug but it could have been the coil...), the intermittent misfire code never returned (and hasn't now after 6+ months of regular driving). My BMW seems to run just as smooth as I'm used to it prior to the misfire triggering the limp mode. I'm glad I chose the Eldor coils to replace the originals.

My car was having a miss-fire issues even on a stock tune. I am now on FBO, tuned on MHD stage 1+ and never had any issues. Highly recommend getting a new spark plugs while you're at it.

These Eldor coils are the latest for BMW engines, and they are used on everything from 4-cyl Mini Coopers to the V-12 Rolls Royce engine. Bosch, Delphi, and Eldor coils are completely interchangeable despite their somewhat random specification among various models/engines. A BMW rep told me this is more for commercial purposes...to ensure adequate supply of replacement coils during the transition to Eldor. For example, my N52 E92 used to specify Bosch, but now Delphi in the current catalog. The 335is used to specify the same Delphi coil, but now calls for Eldor. BMW has moved away from Bosch coils due to quality issues. Mine began failing on my 2011 E92 at only 55k miles...terrible hesitation under heavy load, occasional stutter at idle, with no misfire codes. The car has never run better after installing the Eldors. They have a noticeably better build quality, and the idle is so smooth now. I usually purchase OE parts, but chose the genuine only because people reported getting parts sold under various brands/packaging with the OE version of this part.

These are in fact Eldor coils spec'd for newer N55 and S55 motors. They work great for N54 though and any other application using these type of pencil coils. Was a huge improvement over the older Bosch coils. Good if you are using MHD Tune and having misfire issues.

Replaced these and plugs during HPFP replacement. Probably did not need to replace coils, but it was cheap insurance since I was already replacing plugs and HPFP. No issues

Work great, this is the latest OEM part listed by BMW for the N54, no problems at all they are working great. Listed as not working for the 335is, they work great and are the latest listed part by BMW.

I used this on my N54 E90 335i and it fitment was on point! Fixed my misfires issues and still running strong even after 8 months.
Direct plug and play replacement to old Bosch or Dephi ignition coils.
Design seems more robust from physical aspect.
No noticeable performance gain when comparing Eldor to Bosch.
Used these new eldor coil's for my '07 335i because I was getting misfires from a bad coil. I decided to change out all 6. I've only ran them for about 500 miles so far but they've been awesome. My misfire went away and my idle feels smoother.

Neither, this coil would not have a locator notch for the connector, neither on the middle or left and is retaining by the top cap on the connector.

No, we cannot confirm Eldor 12138657273 for an N55-powered 135i. BMW’s catalog application for this coil on the E82 135i is the earlier N54 version; our confirmed N55 replacement is BMW 12138616153, so that is the coil we recommend for the 2011–2013 135i N55.

Yes, this Eldor coil is the updated BMW ignition coil for the 2006 330i and is compatible with the middle-pin style coil connector used on early N52 cars. BMW lists the current replacement as 12135A06753, superseding 12138657273, for 2005–2006 330i applications.

Depending on tune and the direction you are wanting to go, these wont necessarily make any difference, given the common tunes that have ignition coil options for N20/N26 use the stock ignition settings for all ignition coil brands (they will all perform the same). BM3 has coil options, but the only options that are actually different from stock settings are for Precision Raceworks coils or B58 coils. From everything I gather, even on your setup, the stock coils (any configuration) provide more than enough ignition system strength to support the tune reliably - if you are actually interested in increasing ignition system performance you need to look at retrofitting B58 Eldor coils or similar. You are welcome to send this request to our service team and we can discuss further and help find an adequate solution, but IMO you are not going to see a benefit (other than replacing a faulty part) by worrying about one particular coil/brand over the other other than potential long term reliability.

I ordered these recently and they came in a different packaging, the coils did not have any Eldor name on them at all. My mechanic checked these and said they are not Eldor coils. Can you please confirm these are original coils made by Eldor?

Eldor coils do not come in Eldor branded packaging as Eldor does not have an aftermarket sales division. This coil will come in a white box or box with BBT Technologies branded on it. The part number on top of the coil in both cases will read "R3516S00100" with a production date/time stamp underneath.

The currently recommended ignition coil for N54 applications is the Delphi ignition coil, p/n 12138616153. You can install this Eldor coil, however (technically interchangeably) you will probably see no difference in performance. There is a lot of information in regards to the new Eldor coils being offered and their performance benefits but there isn't anything conclusive at this time as to those supposed benefits.
