One kit per axle, two per car

Your BMW's axle boots usually last the lifetime of your vehicle. However, they can tear which will allow for the lubricating grease to leak out and for water and dirt to get in. If unattended to, the elements from the outside can destroy the axle joint which will result in replacement of the entire axle assembly. If the tear or hole is caught soon enough you can simply re-grease and reboot the joint saving yourself some money.

Not the easiest job but doable
If you own a 325xi you know the front GKN axles only last about 3 years before the outer boot tears. I was feeling adventurous this time and decided to replace the boot. I learned that the boot does not stretch so the cone method failed, but navigating the internets I found an excellent write up on the e53 forums. Let's see how long the new boot lasts. Oh, definitely get the special pliers for the clamps.

Cv boot kit
2003 BMW X5-local dealer and in the shops have done prior boots. Had to get two different Pullers from AutoZone to make one that worked to pull the axles loose. Not a half hour job like YouTube videos. The boots and clamps worked well. I have since sold vehicle so a new owner will enjoy my labor.

Boot replacement
Perfect fit. Quality replacement. If one is bad, do yourself a favour and change the two of you can or find a mechanic who will. I was doing some maintenance and opted for the latter.

Perfect replacement
Comes with a new axle nut which is very convenient. Be ready with strong clamping pliers for these clamps.

Good quality, worth replacing if you have the axle out.
My kit did not have the washer-looking ring in it, but i did not need it. Nice thick boot, quality replacement

E46 CV joint boot
This boot kit is a perfect fit and of the highest quality. Not a very fun job replacing the boot, but it needed to be done before the CV joint was ruined.

As good as you can expect
They fit great, I just ran into a problem since one of the bands broke, I'm not telling they are bad quality, but maybe not that friendly to install (at least the bands)

Great Repair Kit for Factory CV's
This was a great repair kit to fix the integrity of the factory CV excel on my BMW X5. Kit is complete, restores the CV joint to close to overhauled condition. Repair as soon as you detect a split cv boot or see evidence of grease being slung into your wheel or wheel well area. A much cheaper repair than the replacement of an entire cv shaft assembly when you might not need one.

quality part
If your outer boot is torn (which is common on X5) you can replace using this kit as long as the tear is fairly new. The amount of work required to replace the boot is more than replacing the axle with a rebuilt. Chances are the inner boot is pretty close to wearing out as well. GKN makes the original axles, you can also get a new replacement through FCP for new full axle.
