Product Information

Used to hold the crankshaft while removing the central crank hub bolt which is also commonly referred to as the "Jesus bolt"

If you are doing a timing service on an M60, M62, or M62TU engine this tool will be a requirement. It is designed to hold the crank hub in place so that the center crank bolt can be removed along with the crank hub which houses the crankshaft pulley/harmonic balancer.

Great tool. Got the job done for me when do a timing chain job on my M62tu E39. You may want to get longer bolts to secure the holder. The stock ones are not long enough.

This tool makes removing and installing the crank bolt effortless. If you're thinking of taking a chance and doing a repair without this, don't do it. Just buy this and once you use it you'll realize it was worth it. The tool itself is solid, not flimsy at all. The crank pulley bolts are a bit short so make sure to use longer ones. You'll need 4. removes crank bolt quick and easy
I used this to remove the crank "jesus" bolt in under 5 minutes with a 5 foot pipe. This is a must have. Before replacing my chain guides I heard of so many horror stories with the crank bolt. I now realize those stories are most likely because people did not buy this crank holder. Only downside is that it is expensive for a tool you most likely will use once. Put two small 2 x 4's on the ground an the end of the crank bolt rested on it to hold it in place. My harmonic balancer bolts were a little too short to use but I used them.

Works great!
Needed this to do timing guides on my e39 540i; Was unable to get the crank bolt out with any of the usual tricks, so I got this and used a small block of wood to rest it against the passenger side frame rail while using a 5ft breaker bar and voila! Crank bolt came out like a charm!
