A fuel filler housing is the enclosure surrounding the fuel filler neck, typically located behind the fuel door. It provides a secure mounting area for the fuel cap and filler tube while protecting the refueling area from dirt, moisture, and debris. The housing also ensures proper alignment of the fuel nozzle during refueling and often integrates a tether or holder for the fuel cap. Over time, it can wear out or become damaged due to frequent use, corrosion, or impact.

• Rust or corrosion – especially in metal housings, leading to weakened structure or fuel cap fitment issues.
