DOES NOT FIT M44 (318i)
The 90 degree flange (where the O-ring is) that goes into the engine has a mild taper on the original BMW cooling hose connector. This taper allows it to seat nicely to the engine block and not permit leaks. The Febi Bilstein hose does not have this taper, and subsequently DOES NOT SEAT into the block. If you tighten the bolts to try to coax this hose to seat, it will only align halfway. It just doesn't fit, even the O-ring is still left exposed to the elements when it's fully "seated." Good news is this connector came with the required O-ring, the genuine BMW part that I ordered to remedy this issue did not come with one (but I transferred it over). It is noteworthy that the new genuine BMW part was easily installed and seated. This connector is a common fail point and requires removal of the intake manifold on M44s to access- it is disappointing that Febi's part does not fit as they are a trusted brand and my car was left down for longer than it needed to be. This is a rare time where the genuine BMW part (which is about $10 more) is worth getting, just don't forget to grab an O-ring as well.

Disappointing Fit. Not Comparable to OEM
I purchased this part for my M44 (1996 BMW Z3) as a replacement for my OEM part, hoping it would be a reliable option. Unfortunately, the fit was far from what I expected. It didn’t align properly and didn’t sit as securely as the original part. For the price, I expected a much better fit and quality, especially given Febi's reputation. I’d recommend sticking with the BMW OEM part if you want a hassle free experience. Very disappointed with this purchase.

Do not buy this trash
Let me begin by saying “do not buy this trash!” and a little louder for those in the back. I went aftermarket because I didn’t think somebody could mess up a relatively simple plastic coolant connector, but let me tell you that Febi Bilstein proved me wrong. I purchased this piece twice after the first one didn’t fit and I gave them the benefit of the doubt that I got a lemon of a part. The second piece was just as bad. The angle of the flange to the long section that runs parallel to the block was not correct and would not seat correctly against the block, leaving a small gap which leaked coolant. There was no way to modify this piece to fit because it was absolutely 100% made without a care by the brilliant “skilled workers” at Febi. I went to a different website and ordered the genuine BMW part and it fit like a glove with no hassle. I don’t know where the other reviewers are getting their 5 star reviews of this product from, but I wouldn’t trust them. This part is critical to get right the first time, and having to go in and remove the complicated intake manifold and injectors to redo this project will be a PITA. I recommend to save yourself the time and stress and go genuine BMW on this part and really any part that you can afford to do so. My 2¢

Febi, has great quality parts for an aftermarket supplier. I've used countless other Febi parts in my BMW's and Merc's. The part fit perfectly and i've had no problems with it on my e36.
