They don't fit properly but it's an easy fix.
Installed these today and the lower plastic sleeve does not fit over the shoulder of the metal tip. I ground the sides down and little so it's not round but has flat sides so it went into the plastic shock caps.

Warranty - don't buy cheap ones on Ebay
New struts work great. Bought them a while back to replace cheap struts I bought on Ebay that failed in about 4 years. With the new struts they work great and with the lifetime warranty I never have to worry about paying for them again.

Stowage Lid Strut
Fit OK. lower connection was very difficult. Hole is strut seamed to be just a bit smaller that mounting shaft on car. Scraped and sanded the mounting shaft and finally got the strut mounted. Top mount was perfect. This may or may not be a strut issues but both sides were the same so I am deducting that it is the strut. Overall worked as it was supposed to.

Do this replace the struts there are directly connected to the locking actuator? I need to replace the ones that are closer to the top of the windshield.

This p/n is a direct replacement for E30s, used to raise & lower the convertible top accordingly.

Yes, this is the pressurized air spring that holds the convertible top storage tray up when operating the soft top. Two are required and they should be replaced in pairs.
