The E46 M3 has become a very popular vehicle for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Keeping this glorious machine in tip top shape does take some work. FCP looks to keep maintenance less burdensome by assembling proprietary maintenance kits with OEM filters and fluids to keep your E46 M3 going strong.

This service kit addresses to common area of neglect: filters and fluids.

The filters in this service kit are all OEM filters in their own right. The oil filter kit is supplied by Mahle, the air filter is supplied by Mann, the cabin filter is supplied by Mincronair, and the fuel filter is supplied by Mahle. All of these filters are identical to their Genuine counterpart with the exception of price.

Fluids in this kit feature Genuine BMW M TwinPower Turbo 10W60 engine oil, Red Line D4 gear oil, and Genuine BMW SAF-XJ+FM booster differential fluid.

Along with filters and fluid in this kit FCP also supplies the necessary hardware and additional pieces to allow for a successful service on your E46 M3.

D4 ATF Mistake......
So I added this kit to a rather large cart with overhaul items for a newly acquired E46 M with 96k miles but zero documented maintenance. I trusted FCP to do the homework for me and put the 'right stuff' in the kit but as I was discussing the kit ingredients with a good buddy who has an '05 ZCP w/ 30k miles, he asked me WTH I was doing putting ATF fluid in the SMG-shifted transmission...and I was left holding the bag without any documentation that D4 ATF is what the tranny needs to perform its best. So I dive into the World Wide Web and it appears the jury is out on D4 ATF for an '05 tranny. Makes me regret the purchase and I'll see how it goes for a couple thousand miles b/f draining it and going with a thicker oil. The kit also comes with 3 quarts and not sure why; I had a hard time getting two in so I have a good doorstop with the supplied third quart. I also overlooked all the drain plugs that came with the kit...I wouldn't have purchased them otherwise. And FWIW- the BMW diff oil came in clear plastic bottles without the extendable spout. The labeling on the bottles says the right stuff but just never seen that fluid in a clear plastic bottle before. New packaging or ??? I'll scour future orders with a bit more diligence.
