215mm clutch kit, includes clutch disc, pressure plate, release bearing, pilot bearing, and clutch return spring

Your M3 can only put power down to the rear wheels if your clutch is in good working order. If you are a spirited driver or go to many track days your clutch will start to wear out due to extreme use. If your clutch slips under load you will need to replace your clutch kit.

Please note: E9X M3's built before 9/2008 with the original flywheel and clutch will also require replacement and installation of a reinforced "over center" helper spring to ensure proper operation of the clutch pedal with updated clutch and flywheel. This spring is included in this OE LuK kit.

Transmission Clutch Kit

Clutch kits are made up of two main components, the clutch friction disc and the clutch pressure plate. Both of these components transfer torque from the flywheel to the transmission. There are several different types of manual transmission clutches in terms of operation but they all perform the same basic function.

Clutches are a pure wear item. In some cases you may have the option to replace a pressure plate or clutch disc separately but its always best to replace both at the same time along with other component such as the rear main seal, pilot bearing, release bearing, and shifter parts.

Transmission Clutch Kit Failure Symptoms
  • Slipping under acceleration
  • Engine revs freely but the vehicle does not accelerate
  • Difficulty shifting gears
  • Squeaking noises while the clutch pedal is pressed
  • Sticky or spongy clutch pedal feel when the clutch pedal is pressed
  • Burning smell from slipping clutch
