Includes solid flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disc, throwout bearing, flywheel bolts, and pressure plate bolts
All newer BMW's come from the factory with dual mass flywheels for one reason: driving comfort. Due to the construction of dual mass flywheels, it is usually impossible to machine them if they are warped. Replacing a dual mass flywheel is also very expensive and in our opinion, ultimately not worth it if a solid mass flywheel is available.
This solid mass flywheel conversion kit from Valeo comes with all the major components you need to install a new clutch, flywheel, throwout bearing, and pressure plate. The solid mass flywheel offers greater durability with little to no compromise in driving comfort.
For service kit please see Valeo part number 52401223. This flywheel cannot be used with a standard self adjusting clutch kit.

Went on smoothly, zero issues, all the hardware you need is included. I'd recommend buying a set of bellhousing bolts and maybe a new exhaust gasket or 2 since you'll probably need to drop the exhaust to get the trans out. Since your already in there, why not. I went for a full bellhousing overhaul so paired this with a new slave cylinder, new pivot fork and a metal fork pivot (don't entirely trust the plastic one). Maaaaaaaaan, worth every dime. Grabs lower, feels much more predictable and revs up pretty much exactly the same due to the weight of the flywheel.
I had a fairly new Sachs clutch with a new DMF in my E39 and was never happy with the feel. While doing a M54B30 swap, and needing the bigger clutch/flywheel setup, I decided to mount this one. On the positive side, the clutch FEELS great - no chatter, or shudder on moving from a stop, and I have smoother engagement through the gears. The only negative is you will hear more of the engine, which you may or may not want, and very occasionally, what might be layshaft rattle from the transmission. The DMF really damps out the sounds of combustion - the individual pulses - and the SMF transmits them. On WOT, almost sounds like a mild exhaust upgrade - which I like. Clutch feel is light, and I wouldn't mind a little stiffer pressure plate, but overall, I'm very pleased.
Clutch went out, and wanted to get rid of the DMF. Everything was provided for installation, and fit perfect. Clutch feels great, but there is clutch chatter after hard driving (only noticeable at idle). If you have music on or any type of aftermarket exhaust, you won't hear it. Car seemed to rev more freely with the SMF. Would buy would buy again!
Old clutch went out, and wanted to get rid of the DMF so I got this. Fitment is great, and everything was provided to install the new clutch and flywheel. Seemed like the car revved more freely with the new flywheel. Clutch feels great, no complaints.
Expect a little SMF Porschesque gear chatter after installing this (see 3rd link)... Not a complaint, just an observation. I love this clutch. I bought the car with 170k mi on the original DMF, so I cannot really compare it to a fresh stock clutch, but I doubt I would prefer the stocker.... I also deleted the CDV shortly after installation of the Valeo kit... make sure you do that too. You don't need to buy one or modify one, just attach the "soft" line to the hard line. Best wishes!

Just installed, so far feels good. No problems, no complaints. That's a good thing.

Will this part fit on a production date January 2003 bmw 330xi 5 speed manual. the 325xi is listed as it fitting but the 330xi isnt.

No, this will not work for a 330xi. Reason being is the 330xi uses a higher torque capacity clutch that is not shared with other E46's. As far as we know the clutch included with this conversion kit is not up to the task of dealing with engine torque + drivetrain load created by the all wheel drive system.

Do y’all sell replacement solid mass flywheel stretch bolts? I have the Valeo conversion kit already and need new stretch bolts for when I swap the transmission onto a new engine.

Replacement flywheel bolts are not available from Valeo. However, these should not be a torque to yield fastener, torque should be 105Nm with no torque angle. Usually what makes these bolts one time use is the pre-applied thread locker.

No. This only fits the vehicles selected. The clutch included in this kit is not rated for an M60 engine. Valeo does not offer a conversion kit for any vehicles using an M60/M62 engine.

This kit installs like an OE clutch kit. Less tools are needed to install as there is no self adjustment lock mechanism on the pressure plate like the OE clutch has..

This fit's 5-speed 320Z or 250G transmissions only. We do offer a 6 speed flywheel kit under p/n 835101. This is a single mass flywheel in this kit.
