BMW Flywheel Conversion Kit - Valeo 52401225

Am yet to install this clutch but its as I ordered with all the needed hardware and proper throw out bearing. Am writing this before install to note that I did receive a clutch alignment tool while others in the reviews claimed they did not. Am not sure if im just lucky or if they started to include one now.

Clutch engages very smoothly, car is a pleasure to drive again. The chatter is real though and does bother me sometimes.

Clutch went out, and wanted to get rid of the DMF. Everything was provided for installation, and fit perfect. Clutch pedal feels great, and similar to stock. Shifts feel more precise and no longer unpredictable. There is clutch chatter after hard driving (only noticeable at idle), and if you have music on or even an aftermarket exhaust you won't hear it. Car seemed to rev more freely with the SMF. Would buy again!

Overall I was satisfied with the performance, a more aggressive feeling clutch that doesn't have a flywheel that is prone to failure. My only disappointment with this kit was the clutch chatter, It's faint to hear but overtime it becomes the only thing you hear...

This is a night and day switch. If you want on point shifts and a harder bite this is your way to go. Been having it for a couple months now and I don't regret it maybe in future might go with the lightweight flywheel. If your on a budget I would highly recommend this.

Excellent swap from the dual mass flywheel and self adjusting pressure plate to a traditional clutch with pressure plate. The throw out bearing was not garbage like most replacements and it included bolts with loctite. I was not happy about NO alignment tool or pilot bearing being included. I already had a bearing and winged it with no alignment tool. ALL clutches SHOULD come with one, this does NOT!

I guess I should have paid more attention to the picture and listing. While the kit is overall pretty good, it doesn't come with an alignment tool. How ridiculous is that. You can't put the thing together without one, all the other kits have one, but for some strange reason, this one doesn't. So now I can order one and wait another week to finish the job and pay the extra shipping. Really disappointed.

So first things first, only one thing I’ve disliked about this kit, and that’s the throw out bearing. It looks very cheap and thin compared to a stock bearing. I recommend getting the Sachs bearing for 30$. Overall, this is a pretty easy installation, I recommend doing the rear main seal, pilot bearing, input shaft bearing, and pivot pin (get a steel one not brass) all when doing a clutch job. No special tools are needed, just a torque wrench obv. Shifts are a lot more precise like in any other manual car that doesn’t have a dual mass. The shifts are more predicable and a tad quicker without that hop at the end like a dual mass has when you try to go of the line a bit quicker than normal. Cons of a single mass kit: The clutch chatter is very present. Almost sounds like a tick or knock, but from the bell housing. It’s also very annoying when your at a stop light and The car next to you can definitely hear it if they have there windows down. It’s only really there at idle. Another con (for some) is that it’s a bit harsher of a shifting experience, Once you get used to the feel, you can make your car shift just as smoothly as a dual mass. Overall a good buy!
