Product Information

BMW's cheap standard plastic pipework can be prone to splitting or cracking over time. It's more a question of "if" than "when'" you'll experience boost leaks. By fitting a new charge pipe you can be assured of reliability and relieved of any boost-related issues for many miles to come.

Intercooler Pipe

An intercooler pipe (also called a charge pipe or boost pipe) is part of a turbocharged or supercharged engine’s air intake system. It connects the turbocharger or supercharger to the intercooler, and then from the intercooler to the intake manifold.

Its job is to carry compressed air from the turbo/supercharger to the intercooler (where the air is cooled) and then deliver that cooled, denser air to the engine for better combustion and performance. Intercooler pipes are typically made from aluminum, stainless steel, or reinforced silicone to handle high pressure and heat.

Intercooler Pipe Failure Symptoms
  • Loss of Power / Poor Acceleration: Leaks reduce boost pressure, causing sluggish performance.
  • Hissing or Whistling Noise Under Boost: Air escaping through a crack or loose clamp makes a noticeable sound.
  • Check Engine Light (CEL): Often accompanied by codes for underboost or airflow issues (e.g., P0299).

About Genuine BMW

The original parts used by BMW to build your car are available as replacement parts under the “Genuine BMW” brand. When ordering a Genuine BMW part you are guaranteed to get the same part that you would pick up from your local dealerships part department. Genuine BMW parts have been built to BMW’s stringent standards and are the same quality of the original parts used to build your Ultimate Driving Machine.

You may not realize this, but the parts that make up your BMW are not necessarily manufactured by BMW. No cause for concern, as BMW designs the part, hires a manufacturer, and ensures its quality to you. In fact, many of these manufacturers have been making parts for BMW for decades. In our industry these manufacturers are called OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers), and these are often brands you recognize, including Lemforder, ZF, Sachs, Bosch, Valeo, Zimmermann, Siemens VDO, Corteco, and more. Don’t be surprised to open that Genuine BMW parts box and find an OEM branded part inside, simply with the addition of a BMW logo.

Be sure to keep an eye out for OE tags on our product pages to quickly identify parts coming direct from OE manufacturers. That extra bit of insight could save you some serious money while shopping! Refer to our OE Academy for further information regarding the OE/OEM tags throughout the site.

BMW X5 Diesel boost pipe.
This part fit like it was supposed to from factory and was easy install. If you have a boost leak on the diesel good chance it is from this pipe.

Perfect fit
I ordered one originally from parts geek because of the huge price difference but theirs didn’t fit correctly. However once again fcpeuro is on top of their game it sent me the correct part number. (2012 e70 35d M57)
