21.29x1.78mm, smaller solenoid o-ring that comes with a new VANOS solenoid, one time use only

This offering from Reinz is an o-ring seal used in your vehicle's valvetrain/timing system. Specifically, this o-ring is involved with your BMW's famously complicated VANOS variable valve timing system. The VANOS system relies on a solenoid to regulate oil pressure, which is the mechanism for adjusting the position of the camshaft. Without precise control of hydraulic pressure, the VANOS system is totally uncalibrated and will result in poor engine performance. Common issues on BMW's VANOS system often stem from the solenoid either leaking or not functioning altogether. If you're installing a new VANOS solenoid, we highly recommend completing the job with new o-rings like this one to ensure a long-lasting seal.
