Without shims, these rear pads squeal very badly. Despite being rusted and worn, I pulled the old pad shims from the previous OE pads and it eliminated most (but not 100%) of the squealing. Using rusty shims is not an acceptable solution. Do not get these. The backing that supposedly replaces the shims on these Juris pads gets destroyed almost immediately and the inboard pad contacting the piston will squeal very loudly immediately. Frustrating.
Installed these on my 740il with brand new ate blank discs, guide bushings etc. 1k in and they're still squealing. Bite is decent I would say but they tend to squeal with low pressure in brake pedal. Going to swap them out for abotehr brand.
PULLED these from my 05 bmw X5. The squeeling on light pressure was too much. Only had about 500 miles on them. Switched to a Car quest set and instantly went away. 200 miles on those so far and no squeek or squeal

Never had any braking noise before but now have an annoying sequel when lightly applying brakes.
Jurid is the current rear brake pads that BMW dealership installed on my 2008 X3. They have been working well and, now that they are worn, I am replacing with the same Jurid brake pad set. Thanks FCP Euro for the OE parts and awesome price!
I am reasonably certain these are NOT OE brake pads for my BMW e53 X5 3.0.
After about 6 months of very consistent use on fresh Centric 125 series rotors I gave up on these pads and installed the BMW labeled and boxed pads for the rear - with easy and perfect success.
I will offer a rough chronology outlining my methods… During my 6 months of JURID use I experienced initial squeak during low speed braking (mostly acceptable). After a few weeks I did a smoking bed-in for the brakes involving 5-7 hard brake applications from about 65mph to about 5-10 mph in rapid succession. I then drove gingerly for a couple miles home allowing the brakes to cool. I downshifted and used the e-brake during the drive home. After about 10 days the squeak returned. I lived with the squeak for a few more weeks, then removed the JURID pads, wire brush all contact surfaces, lubed the caliper ears and surfaces nicely per the Bentley manual prescribed methods. I also applied Permatex anti-squeal to the back of the pads and gently baked the pads my toaster oven ( when my wife wasn't home : > ) ). And, I also installed new rubber guide pin bushings too. I have never done a cleaner and more thorough brake job. But, the JURID pads still squeaked at low speeds : > ( .
Subsequently, I did a completely lazy pad-slap using BMW labeled and boxed pads. I didn’t clean or lube anything. I didn’t resurface the rotors. And, my low speed brake squeal is gone, and hasn’t returned.
The JURID pads did seem to fit good, stop good, and maybe dust less, but I am not willing to live with the brake squeal on the back of my e53 X5 3.0.
Other thoughts:
These brake pads might work wonderfully in other applications, but they didn’t work for me in this one.
Very squeaky from the moment I drove off. Very bummed. Would have returned them but then I would’ve had to replace front and rear all over again.
Broken in about a week ago, so far great pedal feel with VASTLY improved braking distance compared to the cheapo pads the previous owner had installed, even with Jurid pads already in the front. No noise and moderate (but manageable) amounts of dust. I can confidently say with this level of quality, these will be the only pads I put on my car.
These Jurid pads look identical to the stock BMW pads; they fit my new BMW rear rotors perfect on the X3, no lip, no noise, nice even wear marks, and good stopping power. Can't go wrong with a good Jurid pad set. Wish FCP listed them for the front, maybe not available.....? I would jump on a front Jurid pad set in a heartbeat. Nice to have matching brand pads front and rear. Not a fan of mix matching pad brands but, these Jurids are a great pad. Had these on previously and had 50% pad left after 20,000 miles of use in the rear, pretty good for a heavy vehicle in my opinion.
