Note: The Brake pad with the bulge on the backing plate is intended for accommodating the brake pad wear sensor and must be fitted on the piston side (inboard) of the brake caliper.

Unfortunately they don't last forever and are considered to be a major wear item which must be replaced before they completely wear out and damage the brake rotor costing you more in repairs. Brake pads are suggested to be checked frequently during oil changes or routine services for wear to ensure you have at least the minimum pad thickness as stated by the car manufacturer.

Love these pads. Put them on a 2022 X3 iDrive. As was mentioned in another review the wear sensor has grommet’s that do not match the factory sensor. You will want to order a separate sensor for a proper fit.

Other other Volvo’s and I love them.
These pads are great. They were great on my GTI and I was never able to cook them on hard canyon runs. But G01 X3 non-M sport (and maybe even M sport) owners beware, the brake pad sensor that comes with this kit will not have the right grommet locations as factory. I plugged it in anyways and routed it as best as I could but I still couldn't reset the brake pad service light. I am trying out some Pagid / Hella sensors that I am getting from a different site. This pad set does not come with new caliper bolts either so you'll either need to clean your old bolts and put some loctite on or get new bolts. I'm not knocking any stars despite this because this is just what happens when you get aftermarket parts rather than OE / OEM. The pads are still great, you just need to take some extra steps with the sensor and bolts to do it the right way.
