Bolts to the front wheel spindle, attaches to tension strut

This ball joint bolts directly to the wheel spindle and then attaches to the tension strut. Worn ball joints can cause clicking noises as well as steering issues. Worn or loose ball joints are not only a problem for your BMW's steering performance but they are also an issue for tire wear. We recommend replacing this ball joint in matches pairs.

Suspension Ball Joint

If there is play in the front suspension between the control arm and wheel spindle your ball joint will need to be replaced. This joint is a critical connection point between the wheel spindle and the lower control arm.

front upper ball joint
exact fit - good part , great price. Comes with mounting hardware. if yours are worn you will need to replace for accurate alignment.

quality part
This firmed up my suspension big time and took away a clunk in the front end. Everything else had been replaced besides this ball joint. Installation notes: if you live in a place where car's rust, these will be a pain to get out. I had to remove the whole hub in order to put it in a vice and then knock it out with a large socket and big hammer. This method will require you to purchase new axle nuts as you need to remove those from the hub to get the hub out. Ball joint separator is useful in order to remove remaining ball joints connected to hub.

Tight front!
The Meyle ball joints were a great replacement to my original BMW ones. A very easy DIY project that rejuvenated that front suspension tightness. I replaced my ball joints in addition to the replacement of the OEM control arm bushings. I opted to install purple polyurethane control arm bushings after seeing the OEM and even the Meyle HD ones needing replacing after every 50,000 miles.
