Brand new axle assembly from OEM Supplier GKN
Axles can fail for a variety of reasons. After countless of thousands of miles and years exposed to the elements; axle boots tear and CV joints become weak. If your axle CV boots are torn and leaking you may have to replace the entire axle assembly.
The CV (Constant Velocity) axle assembly is responsible for transferring torque and rotational power from the transmission to the wheels while allowing for suspension movement and steering articulation. The CV axle consists of a shaft with joints at both ends: a CV joint that connects the axle to the transmission and another CV joint that connects the axle to the wheel hub. This design allows the axle to handle changes in angle and length as the vehicle moves, especially when turning or going over bumps.
CV Axle Assembly Failure Symptoms- Clicking or Popping Noises: One of the most common signs of a failing CV axle is a clicking or popping noise when turning the vehicle. This noise typically occurs when the CV joint is damaged or worn out, especially during sharp turns.
- Vibration While Driving: A failing CV axle can cause noticeable vibrations while driving, especially at higher speeds. This vibration may indicate that the axle is bent, or damaged, or that the CV joints are worn out.
- Grease Leaks: If the CV axle boot tears or cracks, grease can leak out. You may notice grease on the inside of the wheel or around the CV joint. This can lead to increased wear on the joint due to a lack of lubrication.

I had read in different forums of replacement CV axles having smaller axle nuts, and the actual shaft being smaller. This CV axle is exactly the same as the original E92 335i axle that was on my car. The nut size, the shaft size, the weight. I would go so far as to say this might be the axle that BMW sells as their replacement.

Its an axle. fits and works as it should. :)
Perfect fit and no more slack or play when twisting the ends in opposite rotational direction. Which means more immediate motion upon pedal press. Way cheaper than OE Genuine BMW.

Regarding the nut; I ordered both the right and left axles and NEITHER one came with the nut. I ordered the nuts, read these comments after the fact and tried to cancel my order for the nuts. Thankfully the order went through otherwise the repair would have been delayed.

Part fitment is never determined by "driver side' or "passenger side" as these can be inverse if the vehicle is left-hand drive or right-hand drive. Part positions are always relative to general seating position inside the vehicle regardless of the driver's seat location. This makes everything on the left as position "left" on the vehicle and everything to your right in the "right" position. This carries to the front of the vehicle and on the rear of the vehicle regardless of which orientation you're looking at the vehicle from.

This p/n works on e9x 335i FROM 9/2007. If you production date falls before this date, it will not fit your vehicle.
