Product Information

Cools vehicle during static operation

Your BMW's auxiliary fan up front serves an important function. When the vehicle reaches certain operating temperatures that may be dangerous to the engine this fan will come on. Often times this fan will turn on when you are running your AC. If this fan fails it is imperative to replace it as soon as possible.

Wire connection to car harness disintegrates.
I purchased this fan to replace the original 22 year old fan. The fan fits perfectly and worked flawlessly until I had to unplug it from the wiring harness to remove it for engine maintenance only 18 months later. The fan wires pulled completely out of the plug assembly and remained connected to the car wiring harness. Since the fan was so new and I didn't have time to wait for a FCP Euro Lifetime free replacement, I did my best to repair it to keep the car on the road. I have recently ordered and received the replacement fan. I look forward to a seamless replacement process. If the fan replacement wasn't free I would have given only 1 star, and be very dissatisfied.

Slightly different, but works quite well.
My oem fan hit the rocks rather abruptly, Smoke and almost fire and all. This replacement got to me 3 days after I ordered it, thats to say, 2 actual days later. fit is precisely oem, electrical and 'mechanical' (fan to radiator). Its not only quieter but my a/c somehow seems cooler during idle.

Questions & Answers

Question Posted by Sean
IS this two speed? Low speed relay and High speed relay operation. I do not see the low speed resistor. Thank you,
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
This is a three wire fan, what is pictured is the connector on the fan itself. The relays which control high or low function are in the fuse box.
