BMW Automatic Transmission Oil Pan Gasket - ZF 24117571235

Product Information

The transmission oil pan gasket is a sealing material that sits between the transmission oil pan and the transmission housing. Its primary function is to prevent transmission fluid from leaking out of the pan, which holds the fluid that lubricates and cools the internal components of the transmission. Over time, due to exposure to heat, pressure, and wear, the gasket may degrade, leading to leaks and potential transmission issues.

• Transmission Fluid Leaks: The most common sign of a failing oil pan gasket is fluid leaking from the transmission.
• Transmission Slipping or Delayed Engagement: A loss of transmission fluid due to a leaky gasket can cause the transmission to slip or have delayed engagement when shifting from one gear to another. Without enough fluid, the transmission can't generate the hydraulic pressure necessary for smooth gear changes.
• Noisy Transmission Operation: Low fluid levels caused by a leaking gasket can also result in increased friction between transmission components. This can lead to grinding or whining noises when the transmission is engaged.

About ZF

ZF Friedrichshafen AG, also known as ZF Group, and commonly abbreviated to ZF (ZF = "Zahnradfabrik" = "Gear Factory"), is a German car parts maker headquartered in Friedrichshafen, in the south-west German region of Baden-Württemberg. ZF is an innovation-driven company that develops volume production-ready products based on its own research and development efforts and thus invests in the future in a targeted way. As a company that develops OE parts, manufacturers expect innovative products from ZF to distinguish their companies and vehicles from the competition. The focus is increasingly on functions for improved driving dynamics, comfort and safety, with fewer individual components or systems. Founded in 1915, ZF has evolved from a supplier specializing in aviation technology to a global mobility technology company.

ZF is a global technology company and supplies systems for passenger cars, commercial vehicles and industrial technology, enabling the next generation of mobility. The ZF family of brands includes Lemforder, TRW, Sachs, ZF, Wabco, Boge and Stabilus. In the four technology domains Vehicle Motion Control, Integrated Safety, Automated Driving, and Electric Mobility, ZF offers comprehensive OE solutions for established vehicle manufacturers and newly emerging transport and mobility service providers. There are many ZF parts that contribute to reducing emissions and protecting the climate.
