Product Information

Air suspensions are designed to ensure consistent ride height per corner and axle regardless of how the vehicle is loaded or weighed down. A main components of this system are the air springs which receive varied pressure inputs to maintain a preset ride height. These air springs are also a major wear item.

Air springs can wear from simply aging. They are made of rubber and various other materials but the rubber itself can dry rot causing failure. The most likely form of wear is simple compression and stretch as they travel over uneven terrain and road conditions. Another possible source of damage can come from debris being flung at them at high speeds.

All damage will result in leaks which will cause the air spring to inflate improperly or not at all. A small leak will make the air compressor run often (which can burn out the air compressor) while a large leak may prevent the air spring from inflating at all.
