The AGR unit (or EGR unit) regulates the flow of exhaust gasses back into the engine to control combustion temperatures and reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. Some signs that your AGR/EGR adjusting unit has gone faulty include, noticeable increase in tailpipe emissions, and a rough idle.
