An A/C expansion valve's primary function is to regulate the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator, where it absorbs heat and cools the air inside the vehicle. The expansion valve reduces the pressure of the refrigerant, allowing it to expand and cool before it enters the evaporator coils. • Poor Cooling Performance: One of the most common symptoms of a failing expansion valve is reduced cooling efficiency. The air coming from the vents may not be as cold as expected, even when the A/C system is running
