Note that this applies to the 1998 528i. The sensors changed after 09/1998 production month. Bought both front and rear Delphi sensors. The right front one (notorious in the 1998 528i for wear and tear for some reason) failed with < 500 miles in winter. Left me shifting manually to get past the transmission failsafe - the right front sensor feeds the transmission controller in the M52 528i). The other three are still good. I usually only buy BMW or OES sensors due to the stringent QA at that level - and pay gladly for it. However, these sensors have an incredible price / performance ratio. My suggestion would be that, if you buy them, to buy an extra one for the front and back - so if there is a failure you have a ready replacement.
Two required per vehicle, measures wheel speed
Wheel speed sensors measure the wheel speed which is used by your BMW's ABS system. Faulty ABS sensors will commonly cause ABS system malfunctions which result in a nice array of yellow lights on your dash. These sensors are most commonly damaged by road debris and wear out in time from the extreme heat of the brake rotors as well as the elements.

Its a decent product. Better than China made sensors for sure. One failed after 500 miles, I ordered an exact replacement. The other has over 4500 miles on it and going strong. At 1/3 the cost of standard OEM, its worth a try.
