Part number NSN-92268 is a new, unused Nissens a/c evaporator core. The A/C evaporator core is like a heater core for your air conditioning system, in that is it often mounted inside your car (or near the firewall) and is connected to your car's HVAC fan to cool the car's interior. Just like a heater core, the main reason an evaporator core needs to be replaced is because it is leaking. Be sure to choose the correct year, make, model, engine and transmission type as condensers can vary greatly due to the equipment installed and feel free to call us with any questions.

Fitment Problem

The fitment was okay. The tubes had to be bent and the bracket from the new one had to be taken off because it would not allow for the evaporator to fit in the box. I had to cut the rubber one from the old one and put it one the new one.

Great Core

I have finally installed this core which I purchased in 2015. Overall I'm very pleased with this evaporator. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: Its of a very good construction and looks like of a better design than the original. This core design has the pipe going on the bottom without passages which to me means that it will be less prone to rotting in the area where the water accumulates while draining. The construction also looks much sturdier than the original. Cons: -The entry/exit pipes seem to be a bit shorter so when installed the valve seems to be located closer to the firewall and the lower pressure port of the AC line will be closer as well which means the port bracket will not reach both mounting studs for the AC port. I was able to mount it on one stud only. I also had to bend the high pressure pipe a bit so it aligns with the valve. Other notes: - The LP side of the pipe seems to be a bit thicker so you might need to grind the bracket which is used to connect the valve to this core. Took me 2 mins to do and it fit. - The core comes with no padding so make sure you grab some padding at your local hardware store to glue to the core so it does not wobble in the IHKA housing. I used weather stripping. - The core says it was made in Denmark.
