BMW 8HP Transmission Pan and Filter Kit - Metzger 8020139M

Product Information

A Transmission Pan and Filter Kit is a service component designed to maintain the health and performance of an automatic transmission system. The kit typically includes a replacement transmission fluid pan, internal transmission filter, and necessary installation hardware such as gaskets, seals, and drain plugs.

The transmission pan serves as a reservoir for transmission fluid, helping dissipate heat and collect contaminants. The integrated filter plays a critical role in trapping debris, metal particles, and other impurities from the transmission fluid before they circulate through sensitive internal components.

Regular replacement of the transmission filter and servicing of the pan helps ensure proper fluid flow, optimal lubrication, and long-term transmission reliability.

• Delayed or rough shifting – Restricted fluid flow can affect hydraulic pressure.
• Transmission slipping – Insufficient or contaminated fluid reduces performance.
• Unusual noises – Whining or rattling due to poor lubrication or debris buildup.
• Fluid leaks – Damaged pan, worn gasket, or loose drain plug may cause leaks.
• Overheating transmission – Reduced fluid circulation can lead to excess heat.
• Dirty or burnt transmission fluid – Indicates contamination or lack of proper filtration.
• Check engine or transmission warning light – Triggered by abnormal transmission behavior.
• Poor vehicle acceleration – Caused by inconsistent power transfer.
