BMW 2-Piece Control Arm Kit (1M M3) - 31102283577/78

I had originally bought the TRW 5-Piece M3 Front Control Arm Kit from a different site since the price was much cheaper and TRW is the original manufacturer of the M3 arms anyway, without realizing that TRW had moved all manufacturing to Malaysia a few years ago. When I received those I quickly realized why they are so much cheaper… they were completely unbranded, ugly and almost felt hollow. I returned that garbage and opted for Genuine (these arms along with the tension struts) albeit much more expensive but they feel solid and have the original TRW and ///M branding. I believe these are overstock from when they were first manufactured for the M3, so better get them while they last. As for getting them on, the most difficult part was just removing the old arms. These slipped right into place with no trouble, however the car drove badly after installation. Many suggest that the front be aligned as an M3, but the dealership was unable to do that so it was re-aligned as a 335i sport. It feels great, the difference is not crazy, but it is noticeable. I don’t know if aligning as an M3 would make any more of a difference but I am very pleased as is. Before purchase, I was worried that my setup would be too low and my wheels too big for these arms since they move in more directions than the 335i arms. There was a lot of tire rubbing and squealing after installation but the alignment fixed all of that, so for anyone else concerned about that: I’m lowered on Bilstein B14 Coilovers (mid height setting, don’t have exact mm), front wheels are 19x8.5 and tires are 245/35ZR/19.
