Product Information

The purpose of a radiator is to assist in keeping the engine operating at its optimum temperature by helping remove heat from a running engine. If your radiator is leaking or has blockages such that coolant cannot flow, then it's time for a new radiator.

Radiator

Your radiator is an integral, and arguably, the most important part of the cooling system. It is designed to expel heat from the coolant via the small fins. Most radiators fail when the end tanks crack causing leaks, but higher mileage radiators which have missing or bent fins often are clogged up with debris which can also cause overheating issues as the radiator cannot expel heat effectively. If your radiator is in rough shape we recommend replacing it. We also highly recommend inspecting/replacing the upper and lower radiator hose at that time.

Radiator Failure Symptoms
  • Overheating
  • Coolant Leak
  • Cracking
  • Bent Fins
  • Clogged Fins caused by debris

Yeeeup...
Well I hope FCP has removed this item when browsing for a 00' 4Motion V6 Passat radiator so that NO ONE encounters the problem I had. This one is for a turbo'ed powered car... VW didn't make a turbo'ed 4Motion V6, Audi on the other hand but that's a different story we're talkin about VDUBs. On my end I should've read the description carefully but when your cars has been down almost a month (waiting on parts and tools), you've been getting a ride to work and you FINALLY find your radiator (or so I thought) at a great price??? It sucked but their customer service was excellent, they apologized and they sent me a free return label. 5 stars for customer service!

Question Posted by Kevin
I'm trying to understand the differences between this Nissens radiator 8D0121251BC and the other Nissan's that you list for my 2005 Passat AWM automatic transmission. Or between this one and the Valeo and original VW radiator. The prices are all over the map.
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
There are duplicate 8D0121251M radiators, one of the Nissens units would have to be consolidated and 8D0121251BC would be correct for your application. Valeo is an OE manufacturer where Nissens would be aftermarket in this case, so there would be a considerable price difference between the two.
