Audi VW Power Steering Filter - Mann 0002360055

Product Information

A power steering filter is a component within a car's power steering system that cleans the hydraulic fluid by removing metal shavings and debris, preventing damage to the system's internal parts; if a power steering filter fails, you might notice symptoms like a stiff steering wheel, whining noises when turning, low power steering fluid levels, or a gradual decrease in steering assistance, often accompanied by a grinding or groaning sound.

• Stiff steering: The most noticeable symptom, is that a clogged filter restricts fluid flow, making it harder to turn the steering wheel.
• Whining noises: When turning, a failing filter can cause a whining or groaning sound due to the pump struggling to move the contaminated fluid.
• Low fluid levels: A clogged filter can lead to a gradual decrease in power steering fluid level as the system struggles to maintain pressure.
