Product Information

The EGR (Exhaust Gas Re-circulation) cooler is an air-to-liquid heat exchanger that uses engine coolant to reduce exhaust gas temperatures prior to recirculating it back into the engine's intake system. This system is intended to reduce NOX emissions but also significantly reduces thermal stress on cylinder head gaskets and intake/exhaust valves. It is recommended to regularly inspect EGR coolers to ensure there is no antifreeze leak coming from them. When removing or replacing the EGR cooler, it's highly recommended to replace all gaskets such as this EGR Cooler gasket. This gasket resides between the EGR cooler pipe and the EGR cooler.
