Audi Automatic Transmission Service Kit - ZF S671090255KT

It was a good thing the gasket was already installed on the filter - the old one was hardened as stuck up there - popped it out but it was not reusable and would have leaked. filter had same part number and mfg markings of the original filter in the car. the ZF fluid is incredible. This is the way to 100K service a D3 Audi A8L (mine is 06). its shifting so well and just feels so much better. Had a little over a quart left over (one manual says its a 4.5L refill on a change - but you lose some flushing it and I let my unit drain out real well. extract drain measured about 4.7L. you forget its $15 a quart when you are refilling. was glad I had a little extra - reverse showers out fluid. Will be back for the 150K service. was able to complete service with 4 tall wheel ramps, lift/lock on air suspension, and 2 high lift jacks. I did a preliminary fill and then drove 20 minutes in all modes.. then sat overnight and warmed to 39Celcius and add/drain until minor drips at idle and put that 17MM allen pipe plug back in (while engine idles in park). re-install the 16mm bolt crossmembers. tranny pan was 27 torex. front drain was like 5mm or 6mm allen, the same as the wiring bracket. special tools were NOT needed. might drain off and refill about 4 quarts in 10K.. or just wait until 150K. I DID blue-RTV a skimming on the gasket because the paper gasket seemed to seep a little out or the torsen unit seeped a tiny amount. good to service rear diff (10MM) and front diff with synth 75w90 at this time. might suck out 400ml from the torsen and top off but im hearing different opinions about servicing that $100/qt, 1Litre unit.
