Product Information

Suspension Control Arm

Control arms are crucial link in a vehicle's suspension connecting the suspension to a vehicle's subframe. These pieces are usually hinged to allow for suspension to travel and articulate as the vehicle rides over obstructions in the road and while the vehicle turns. Many vehicles such as those with independent suspensions have multiple links and feature several connection points and arms to offer better ride quality and comfort.

As bushings and joints in a control arm begin to wear you may notice a looseness feel in your suspension. And while many arms have replaceable and serviceable individual components, many still require the replacement of the entire arm. Below are signs of when a replacement control arm may be needed:

Suspension Control Arm Failure Symptoms

  • Play in suspension joints where these arms meet the subframe and/or knuckle
  • Buckling noise emanating from the suspension
  • Uneven tire wear
  • Inability to properly align vehicle
  • Shutter or vibration coming from the steering wheel at highway speed
  • Wandering or pulling sensation from side to side felt on the steering wheel

Meyle Rear Guide Rod
I have to admit I was a little skeptical of these rear guide rods on my B5 S4, but after installing them, I take back my skepticism. They're nice and firm, and a big improvement over the stock TRW guide rods that were on my B5 S4. The rear of my car felt more planted, stable, and responsive in slippery situations than my TRW ones did. These rear guide rods also came at the recommendation of one of the Audi techs at my dealership. I am glad I listened. If you have worn joints or bushings in your B5 S4, I recommend these as well as a decent replacement. Just be aware the driver's side installation of the guide rod will require you to lower your anti-sway bar, as the fitment is VERY tight there. Some have recommended lower your rear subframe to get the bolt in, but I did not find that to be my case. I was able to get the camber bolt in, without stripping threads, with this guide rod in place. The other hard part is trying to find the right extension for the 16mm socket to go on the lock nut and loosen the old one out. Once you get this installed, you'll be glad you did. Very good quality build, and doesn't break the bank either.

Track Rods
Sooo seems to match to old track rods in dimensions with visual comparison and seems well assembled. Old track rods were original and only be cause I tore boot on ball joints did it warrant for replacement while replacing wheel bearings because they were froze to wheel hub/knuckle. Only comes with self locking but for ball joint and you will re-use concentric/camber bolts unless you purchase new ones. I made alignment marks with paint pen to help preserve alignment during reinstall along with witnesses marks to keep it drivable for couple days until I could get alignment done/checked. I do recommend this because you will have to remove camber bolt to replace track rods. Overall ride quality not a huge difference but handling/cornering was very noticeable improvement. Also Alleviated a slight clunk in drive line when taking off and shifting gears.

Great piece.. They even took the time to shave the casting flash off. Not something you see with may Chinese produced products.

rear tie rod
These are really good quality. Recommend buying a new camber bolt as you will have to cut through the old one with a sawzall to remove.

Better than OEM and other Aftermarket Pieces
I bought these rear tie rods to replace the ones in my vehicle that had developed play in the ball joint and prevented my car from getting an alignment. This piece was engineering thoughtfully, the stud on the end of the ball joint has a hex head so you can use an allen key to keep it from spinning while you tighten down the nut. Can't beat the price either.

Installed this on my 01 S4 Avant. Solid part that fits like the original.
