A sunroof cover, also called a sunshade, is the sliding panel located beneath a vehicle’s sunroof or moonroof. It is usually made of fabric or a rigid material and is designed to block sunlight, reduce heat inside the cabin, and provide privacy when the glass roof is not in use. The cover can be manually operated in some vehicles, while in others it is electrically powered to move in sync with the sunroof. Beyond comfort, it also helps protect the interior materials from UV fading and excessive heat buildup.
