Radiator Shutter Assembly

The radiator shutter assembly, also known as an active grille shutter, is an airflow management component located at the front of the vehicle. It opens and closes electronically controlled louvers to regulate air entering the radiator and engine bay. By optimizing aerodynamics and engine temperature, the shutter assembly improves fuel efficiency, reduces emissions, and helps the engine reach operating temperature more quickly. Constructed from durable plastic and equipped with an electric actuator, it is engineered for continuous operation in varying driving conditions.

Radiator Shutter Assembly Failure Symptoms
  • Check engine light or fault codes related to airflow control – caused by a stuck or malfunctioning shutter actuator.
  • Overheating or poor engine warm-up – due to shutters not opening or closing properly.
  • Reduced fuel efficiency or increased wind noise – from shutters stuck in the open position.
