Genuine VW/Audi R-Tronic Hydraulic Fluid Service Kit

Audi does not disclose a service interval for the Oerlikon Graziano 086 Transmission Hydraulic Fluid found in the Type 42 R8 R-Tronic Models, stating it is a Permanent Fill - No Change. As this system utilizes Power Steering Fluid, it is important to remember that Power Steering Fluid can be hygroscopic. As this is not as critical, compared to Brake Fluid, the fluid will still degrade over time if the level is low or is exposed to overheating conditions. It is recommended to service the Hydraulic Fluid simultaneously with the Transmission Service to ensure the proper functionality of your 086 R-Tronic Transmission.

Please Note:

  • An applicable scan tool must be utilized to reduce the system pressure of the R-Tronic hydraulic system. Risk of Injury may occur if this procedure is overseen - system pressure may be up to 50BAR (725.19 psi).
  • The vehicle must be absolutely horizontal either on a vehicle hoist or standing over a work pit so that the hydraulic fluid level can be adjusted correctly.
  • A lint-free rag or comparable may be utilized to wipe excessive fluid residue in the reservoir once extracted.
  • A Leaky R-Tronic Hydraulic Reservoir Cap must be replaced with a cap having a vent hose. Please see 086-301-474 for additional details.

  • CTA Extraction/Filling Syringe Pump (200cc)
