Power Steering Pump

Power steering pumps pressurize the fluid in the steering hydraulic system to allow for steering assist at slow road speeds. The power steering system is powered by the engine via a serpentine or v belt which spins the pump pulley. Power steering pumps are generally a lifetime component.

However, poor power steering system maintenance, old power steering fluid, and incorrect power steering fluid can cause the pump to fail prematurely. If your power steering pump is screaming or chirping when you are turning the wheels you may need to replace it.

Bosch ZF Power Steering Pump for Audi S5
I bought this pump from FCP Euro on the recommendation of a friend. The equivalent part was $2500 Canadian at all local retailers and Canadian websites. At $440 USD it was cheaper than any other US website I was able to find offering the part, and to top off this amazing deal the part comes with the FCP Euro lifetime warranty. Because FCP Euro did not have the part in stock it came straight from the Bosch factory, this took an extra day or two than the expected shipping so a rep from FCP Euro refunded me the cost of shipping and gave me an additional $50 off the part. After installation, the steering is noticeably better than when my car had the old pump working. The change between comfort, auto, and sport steering is more pronounced and overall more comfortable and precise/sporty than before. I’m a student and if it weren’t for FCP Euro I likely would have sold my car, I’m glad that I have found a reliable company with amazing customer service and new high quality car parts. I will definitely be buying all parts with them from now on and have recommended the company to everyone I know.
