Audi Brake Calipers Parts

Audi is a famously credible brand, renowned for manufacturing some of the most elite luxury cars in the auto industry. Their headquarters and facilities are found in Germany, where they have built up a highly regarded standing that has given the Audi a great respect over time. Their imaginative designs and flawless engineering stands behind all of Audi’s vehicles and products, including brake caliper parts and components. Audi’s brake calipers consist of pistons that push your brake pads on the rotor, producing the friction that slows down the wheel. Replacing your brake pads is a common aspect of its service and necessitates that the caliper be taken off from your rotor in order for the pads to be removed and new ones put in. Take not that your piston commonly needs to be retracted into the caliper to permit enough clearance for the newer and thicker brake pads, as well as the caliper to glide over your Audi’s rotor. On all of Audi’s and VW’s vehicles, the piston has to be rotated when it is retracted. Make sure to clean your brake caliper and any areas near it with a brake cleaner. If you have to retract the caliper piston, that usually means you are also putting in new brake pads. Take off the lid on the brake fluid reservoir and examine your brake fluid level. If the level of fluid is low, go ahead and retract your caliper, but if the fluid is at the top, the pressure from pushing the piston into the caliper can force the fluid to overflow. Take out some of the brake fluid with a turkey baster if you to prevent the fluid from spilling out. You can also place rags around the reservoir. FCP Euro has a vast variety of Audi brake caliper parts and components, including all of Audi’s more general parts.

Secure your brake caliper with something while you retract the piston, so that it does not hang on your Audi’s brake line. Glide a caliper piston-retracting tool into the spaces in the caliper and rotate the piston with the tool while pushing it into the caliper. You may have to use a C-clamp to secure the piston into the caliper while all together rotating it. Withdraw the caliper until there is enough space between the brake pads and the rotor to glide the caliper over the rotor. You need to stop and examine this by provisionally installing the pads, since you cannot retract the piston with the brake pads already in place. Glide the brake caliper over the rotor when you have retracted the pistons enough and then the caliper bolts. Refill the brake fluid and put the cover back on the reservoir. FCP Euro's organized and devoted call center team is available and waiting to help out with any support or questions you have.
