The 2005 model year marked the first year that the Audi A3 was available in North America with the unique sport back body. The S Line trim level was an option enhancing exterior body features.The third generation of the Audi A3 was available for the 2015 US model year with production starting in 2012 for other markets. It’s the first Audi vehicle to use the flexible modular VW Group MQ8 platform, available as a 3-door hatchback or 5-door sportback. This new generation Audi A3 8V chassis features a 1.8 TFSI and 2.0 TDI power plant options. The Audi A3 sedan was shown at the 2013 New York Auto Show. The all new Audi S3 is powered by a 2.0 liter TFSI engine with an impressive 296 hp from just a 4-cylinder engine. This new engine is reworked compared to a run of the mill 2.0 liter TFSI using new pistons, connecting rods and rings further strengthening the engine. This results in 0-60 times in the sub 5 second range with manual and an even faster sprint with the lightning fast shifting S-Tronic transmission.
