BMW Pedal Parts

BMW is known around the globe for their commitment to quality, which has been a part of the brands past since early on. They have produced a wide vehicle selection all with advanced designs and have made sure to manufacture original products. BMW also has a great reputation, which has allowed them push the brand into the auto industry leader they are today, and more specifically, with their pedal parts and components. The most regular issue with your BMW’s gas pedal sticking is found with the butterfly valve. This is part of the throttle body and can become caked with carbon. This also forces the grease to become unsuccessful and the cabling will begin to stick. The cabling within the throttle body can become bound up if it is not greased correctly. Low weather temperatures outside can also force the throttle body to seize, which results in a lack of action from the cabling. Another reason for a stuck pedal in your BMW could be loose screws. The arm of the throttle has a screw on it and if this becomes loose, it may jam against the throttle body. Usually there is a screw below the throttle body. If this has gets loose and is sticking out, the throttle cannot completely depress. Not as common, but another possible reason for your BMW’s pedal to stick is that the cruise control cable has become faulty. It can become wedged holding the throttle into the wide open position. If you have questions about BMW’s pedal parts or components, the FCP Euro team and website are always in place for your support or questions.

The throttle body in your BMW is part of the air intake manifold. As you put air into the manifold you get more power out of the engine. If your pedal is stuck you either let in too much air, or not enough. To clean the throttle body you have to unscrew the air intake hose clamp, pull out the hose, and then pull the throttle position sensor. Use a screwdriver to release the manifold and then you can release the throttle body. After that, you can then clean all of the buildup from your throttle body. Make sure to replace all of the parts and inspect your BMW’s gas pedal. Secure each part according to the pressure information in your BMW’s owner's manual. Make sure not to turn off your BMW’s engine, as this causes a loss of power steering, and braking will becomes tense. The first step to stopping your vehicle with a sticky pedal is to put on your emergency lights. Put your BMW into neutral and depress the brake lightly, aiming towards a safe spot off the road to brake. If your brake pedal has stuck, coast to a slow stop. Once at a stop, pull the emergency brake and call for help. FCP Euro's helpful and sophisticated call center staff is always available and ready to answer any questions you have.
