You are now ready to spray the cleaner through the access point towards the evaporator core. Many of these cleaners are foam based, which manufacturers design to cling to all of the surfaces inside of the heater box, which cleans and disinfects them. Fill the space with foam and let it set for about a half hour. The foam will turn liquid and pass through the drain openings when it has finished its job. Casually rinse the area with water. You can use a light spray from your garden hose. Have someone watch the inside vents while you do this incase you spray water inside of your BMW. If you are not happy with the hose, use a spray bottle containing clear water. Seal the heater box and install the resistor block or blower fan if you took them out. If you drilled a hole, use RTV silicone from a tube to seal the opening. When you want to clean the evaporator again, just pick the dried silicone out with a pick or screwdriver to get to the core. Start up your BMW for another half hour with the heater set to hot and the blower on its highest setting in order to dry the space completely.
