Audi Exhaust Gasket Parts

Audi is a leading auto manufacturer with a long history of making quality parts with expert engineering. Audi’s high-ranking standards are added into every vehicle and product they build, as well as their exhaust gasket parts and components. All Audi vehicles have at least one pipe with a flange connection. The front pipe is secured to the manifold and uses the flange. Most of today’s vehicles secure other parts, like catalytic converters, exhaust pipes, and even mufflers, with a flange connection. With your Audi up on a lift and some knowledge behind you, this repair should only take a couple of minutes. The first thing to do when replacing a leaky flange gasket is examine your Audi’s pipe prior disconnecting it. Front-pipe-to-manifold flanges usually need the rear flange to the converter or pipe be detached in order to get to the leaky gasket. Figure out how the flange is secured. Nuts to the studs of your vehicle’s manifold hold on all front-pipe-to-manifold flanges. Downstream flange connections may have studs on one side and nuts on the opposite side. These downstream studs can be usually have circular heads that cannot be grabbed with a wrench. Nut and bolt connections will need the bolt of the head be detained motionless with the wrench while a ratchet and socket unfasten the nut. FCP Euro has the best Audi exhaust gasket parts and components, including all general components for every part of our Audi vehicle.

Separate your Audi’s flange hardware and if needed, heat the nuts with an oxyacetylene torch. Heat just the edges of the nut and not the bolt itself, which will swell the nut. When the nut is red, switch off the torch and take off the nut. For front pipes, a ratchet, long extension and socket, is your best bet. Repeat this procedure for every nut and stud/bolt of the flange until they are all taken off. The studs will stay intact on their exhaust parts. Now, disconnect the flange connection. This is where the exhaust pipe hanger tool may be needed. Releasing one or more exhaust hangers close to your flange connection can provide the exhaust system with the correct flexibility to get to the mating areas of each mating flange. Wash off each flange connection-mating surface with a clean cloth or medium-grit sandpaper, if you used a torch. Add of high-temp Perma-Tex (O2 sensor-safe) compound on either side of your gasket and put the gasket between your flanges. On some flange connections, there is a small piece of pipe coming out on the inside of the flange to put the gasket on. Attach the flange connection after putting the assembly back on hangers, if required, with some new hardware.
