Question Posted by Marvin
I have a 2009 Mercedes-Benz S550 4matic. I don't have any service information on my vehicle. I have a leak from my transmission pan. I don't know what condition my transmission oil is in,bad, or good. All I know is my car has 99,000 miles on it. But I don't know the service history. But I have to fix the leak. Is this kit the right ✅ fluid, and is it enough to change the torque converter, and the pan fluid? I don't know what color of fluid should be put in. I don't know what color is in it now. I've been hearing a lot of scary things if you change your transmission fluid that you can damage your transmission. I don't know if I should do a flush as well because New transmission fluid is being put in. Should I do a flush, or just change the fluid since everything is new? Is this fluid specifically for my vehicle? I'm really scared about having this service done. I DON'T WANT TO DAMAGE MY VEHICLE. Can you please help me with this decision of service?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
If your pan is leaking and you do nothing, you have a failure waiting to happen. This transmission REQUIRES the correct fluid, fluid level, and periodic fluid changes. Doing nothing will result in transmission failure. A lot can be determined about the condition of your transmission by checking the condition of the fluid that comes out, the condition of the particles in the pan and on the pan magnet, and the current adaptations on your transmission module. Please have your technician verify all of those.

I have a 2009 Mercedes-Benz S550 4matic. I don't have any service information on my car. I have a leak from my pan. I purchased this kit. Is this enough fluid for my car? I'm afraid to do a transmission service, because I hear your transmission can become damaged afterwards. But I know I have to fix the leak, because I don't want to run into any problems....
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
The transmission will thank you for the new fluid and updated filter by providing many more years of trouble-free service!

Is there an easy way to tell the difference between the pre-2012 pan and the upgrade pan without removing it from the vehicle?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Yes, compare the underside indentation of the pre2012 and 2012 pans on our site as an indicator.
Question Posted by a customer
The local mechanic did the upgrade for me, and he gave me back the leftover, approx 3L in a big Pentosin bottle. Is this normal? Should he put in more?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
This is normal. Your vehicle was serviced correctly.
